Turf hat, made from soil, mesh and 24 different species of plant. First shown at the 2019 exhibition The Marches, alongside matching turf jackets.
The hat, if looked after and watered regularly, will aid in cleaning the air around the wearer, dampening sound and attracting pollinators. It will look different every week of the year as changing, co-dependant plants bloom and die. It will also, given time, repair its own root systems if damaged.
Each hat is made to order in house, with a lead time of 3 months, dependant on season. Please contact before ordering. Alternatively, a PDF guide with pattern, instructions and print artworks is free to download. I warmly encourage you to attempt making your own.
