KEVLAR PITCHER TOTE 625.00 GBP

Pitcher Tote, Kevlar edition 1 of 1, made from soft raw Kevlar felt bonded to coarse woven Kevlar fabric.

This bag, mimicking in form the round belly of the Nepenthes plant, glows with the acid yellow of the Kevlar fabric. This pigment darkens with passive exposure to UV light over time to a warmer ochre tone,  decaying naturally like vegetal matter. The fabric's protective characteristics lend themselves to a strong, durable, dubiously bullet proof outer shell, whilst the muffled interior provides a cushioned shield from the outside world. Kevlar is a very popular material for racing canoes (Source: Wikipedia).

The bag can be used multiple ways, fastened by zipper or popstud, and carried by adjustable shoulder or hand strap, or removable cross body strap. The top zipping pouch is attached to the main body of the bag by eyelets, so objects such as scarves, gloves or even a newspaper can be slid underneath.

The bag uses marine and military grade steel fittings, with minimal moving parts, Lampo Coil Zips and heavyweight kevlar webbing. All panels are hand cut, and stitched with sailing spec Kevlar thread

The fabric is entirely experimental, hand bonded in-house and hand cut using specialised cutting machinery. Due to the corse nature of the fabric some fraying is inevitable as the bag is used - as a one off artisanal piece, we see this as an invitation to repair and adapt the bag over its lifespan - for major patching an repair we recommend aramid sail repair tape.

For use with the removable, packable water resistant tote cover, sold separately.
